Joseph Velli

Joseph Velli is an Operating Director at ClearPoint. Over his 30-year career, he built numerous market-leading businesses in transaction processing and payments and executed over 50 acquisitions. He is recognized for his ability to re-engineer businesses and pursue growth.
 
For 22 years, he served with BNY Mellon (formerly The Bank of New York), most recently as Chairman and CEO of BNY Convergex Group. Joe held a variety of senior positions at The Bank of New York, where he headed businesses in brokerage services, payments, clearing and securities services, employee benefits administration, and consumer lending. While at The Bank of New York, he was a member of the Senior Policy, Audit, Asset Allocation, Trust and Investment, Innovation, Technology Oversight, and Capital Allocation committees.
 
Joe holds an M.B.A. in finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a B.A. in accounting from William Paterson University of New Jersey. He serves on the Board of Directors of Computershare Limited and Paychex, Inc., and is a member of the School of Business Advisory Board at William Paterson University. Joe previously served on the Board of Directors of E*TRADE Financial Corporation, E*TRADE Bank, and American Management Systems, Inc.
